Living Building Challenge Workshop

It´s time to create a living future and a world full of living buildings: Our communities are long overdue for a redesign. We´re living among 7.4 billion people (and counting). Human-caused climate change is happening now. Every major ecological system is in rapid decline. The time to design buildings that are “just” sustainable is over: we need a paradigm shift towards a regenerative design.

People from around the world are already creating spaces that regenerate life: inspiring products that give more than they take, healthy workplaces, beautiful buildings that spark collaboration, and thriving communities that foster connectivity and connect to their unique place. Regenerative buildings generate more energy than they use, capture and treat all water on site, and are made using healthy materials.

During this workshop we will present the programs of the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), a global network dedicated to creating a healthy future for all. We will present case studies of projects certified with the Living Building Challenge, the world’s most rigorous proven performance standard for regenerative buildings. We will explore the concept of biophilic design and how three labels, Declare, Just and Reveal, can be used to verify and showcase regenerative approaches to products, businesses and companies.

The presentation is held by Carlo Battisti, Sustainable Innovation Manager & Consultant, ILFI’s European Executive Director, and by Martin Brown, owner at Fairsnape and Strategic Advisor for the Living Future Europe Initiative.
